Stupid, Stupid Movie Producer! GB - Grand BODOH !!

Dear Member:

This is to notify you that we have removed or disabled access to the following material as a result of a third-party notification by Grand Brilliance Sbn Bhd claiming that this material is infringing:

Waris Jari Hantu Trailer Special Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wD473A2KaNo

Please Note: Repeat incidents of copyright infringement will result in the deletion of your account and all videos uploaded to that account...............bla bla bla

Sincerely,

YouTube, Inc.

Honestly, I do not blame YouTube, they are just doing their job and for sure none of use want a no 4 Alexa rank web site to close down izzit.....

Whose the IDIOT then? Who else none other than Grand Brilliance Sdn Bhd, or shall I call Grand Bodoh Sangat Bebal.

Okay, first, I Am Not A Lawyer, but going strictly on the business merits here, Grand Bodoh is exhibiting an astonishing dearth of clues even for a large corporation:

  • Trailer on YouTube giving them free publicity. More people visited YouTube rather than official movie website (with Alexa rank at 1.6 million in oppose to Youtube at 4)

In fact, in a frictionless, Grand Bodoh should be paying me for the additional exposure.

Doesn't Grand Bodoh have to pay to show their trailers on TV or in theaters? They're benefitting here, not being infringed upon. Stupid stupid....

  • If Grand Bodoh really wants to prevent people from downloading their trailer, there are technical means of doing so. YouTube video is not easy to download.... average Tom Dick and Harry wouldn't know how to download it.

  • Grand Bodoh gets to see how many people are viewing each trailer from YouTube and from where by analyze that valuable data. Indeed comments made from by Youtube user are priceless. They should work on doing something with that instead of worrying about trailer "copyright".

Why does Brand Bodoh want to limit the audience for a trailer, anyway? If more people see a trailer, presumably more people will want to see the movie. Grand Bodoh then makes more money. Stopping people from doing what it does hurt Grand Bodoh.

If Grand Brilliance were actually smart, it would be negotiating with YouTube for prominent placement ads on its site. At the very least, YouTube users shouldn't be the targets of Grand Bodoh's lawyers.

5 opinion, wanna say something?:

easy ... the reason is simple... Coz the Movie they develop are tahi.. only the poster looks nice.. so, logical prevent ppl from watching the trailer is to have less ppl going away from the movie..haha.. Didnt watch the trailer, we might think that the movie is good.. by seeing the trailer, we know the movie is sucks.. thats y lar.. haha

Should have not made the trailer. Spend money for big poster like Puteri Gunung Ledang. Advertising so grand, movie suck big time.

Well, you should at least realise that GB have the right to protect their IP and - more importantly - have control over it. Although you may think that the trailer you put up is doing them a favour, the fact is that they have no idea about what you put up, or if you will change it in the future. So, you could say, "it's a trailer for WJH", when it could actually be bits of WJH interspersed with god-knows-what-else you put in between. Their choice: Do they trust you that you won't do anything bad? Or do they take control of the situation by asking for it to be pulled down?

Personally speaking, I think it's kinda dumb to turn down free publicity (even if it does turn out to be negative), but it's their right, and you should at least recognise and respect it.

It's their lose anyway, one of the video had 10000 viewed, mine over 2000. Of course that is nothing compare to millions watching on TV, but if 1 person decided to watch the movie after seeing the trailer in Youtube is considered a success.

Furthermore, youtube reach international market - I bet Shuhaimi Baba wanted to see another one of her work being recognised internationally.

Rumours are saying, movie and music industries actually sell their work to piracy tycoon after they are done with cinema viewing.

Dont you ever wonder how sometimes these pirates get their hand on master copy / preview copy.
